carpenter cutting pattern optimizer 2-dimension app for iPhone and iPad
cutting pattern is the best way to save your material, work and time when you need to cut any material such as plate, timber, label, bar, tab, rolls or other linear materials supplied in prefixed standard lengths.
cutting pattern automatically finds the optimal cutting layouts, capable to calculate the best yielding of materials
with minimum cost in processes of 2D cutting for materials and using the most advanced optimization engine.
cutting pattern is a complete solution with its own databases, detailed reports and easy to use interface.
The model is formulated
based on the current practices and the constraints at construction site. A steel bar is
an important construction material that is used in most reinforcing concrete structural
components. A steel bar is a costly material and accounts for a large portion of the
total construction budget. Their trim losses can give an impact on the project profit.
Our technology is based on the most progressive technique "Guillotine
Algorithms" providing high-quality, simple to cutting, reliable and stable optimization for any cutting case.
User interfaces in our software are designed with the accent on REALLY easy usage, minimal data entry time and maximal ergonomics.
What is more, we can customize our software to meet your special needs.
Just enter stock sizes, pieces sizes and cutting options to Cut Logic 2D and start optimization.
In a few seconds you will get the perfect solution - optimized cutting sequence - receipt how to order and cut material to minimize waste and material cost.

Disappointed
Only managed to save one project. Cant add more parts, cant add different material. Trying to use this for sheet goods optimization. Also no send button for emailing list.
Doesnt Work
Not intuitive at all. Once I got it to calculate my dimensions, which were really confusing to enter, it froze. Closed app and restarted, then it wouldnt calculate without freezing up. Tried 4 times before I gave up. Dont waste your money.

I am learning Google sketch up. Ive built an accurate model, but not sure how to export cut list. Found this app and it works great. I type in my plywood size(4x8), then the cut sizes, and calculate button. My project will use 3.5 sheets of plywood... They even have an "image" button to show layout of what is used and what is wasted...
Only changes I would suggest is: 1) being able to export the image of cuts along with list. Just a little extra to help envision project. 2) some sort of auto rotate switch. I wonder if my project could cut more waste by rotating cut list. My first list had my project on 5 sheets of plywood, after I swapped and rotated a few cuts, my waste became minimal and my project was reduced to 4 sheet(3.5 really). I wonder if there is and algorithm to find an even better fit, to reduce more waste. Another example: plywood 48"x96" and I want six cuts of 24"x30". In this order, I can get all my cuts from one sheet of plywood. If I typed it in 30"X24", the app tells me two sheets of plywood (4 cuts on one ply and 2 on second ply. Instead of all six cuts on one sheet). This should be a switch and not automatic, because some projects will require wood grain direction as part of the cut.
Other than these two items, the app is superb. Good job.
